SCENIC ART

I first began learning about scenic painting during Dominican University's 2016 production of Legally Blonde through painting wood grain on set pieces. From there, I continued learning on the job in the scene shop, through painting birch trees for The Seagull the following spring. The next year, I took a scenic painting class where I learned techniques such as wood grain, cut stone, clouds, shrubbery, drapery, and marble. For Dominican University's spring 2018 production of Songs for a New World, Bill Jenkins, Amy Couey, and I painted nebulas on facing and the floor of the set by combining cloud and marble techniques.
